Is Homosexuality a Choice?

This is the launch of my new Blog as President of PFLAG Baltimore County. And, although we meet in Lutherville, just north of the Baltimore Beltway, our group includes members from Baltimore County, Baltimore City & Harford County.

The inaugural topic of discussion is:

Is Homosexuality a Choice?

  1. How NEAT!
I'm impressed that you have posted a PDF version of the booklet, "Is It A Choice". How did you do that? I think it's an excellent little publication, and have often recommended it to others.

My opinion....The only 'choice' would be either to honor one's true authentic self OR to choose to 'act a part' that one perceives to be more "acceptable".

What intelligent person would **choose** to be a member of a minority which is often misunderstood, which faces discrimination, and does not have the same protections and rights as the rest of the population in our country ???
    That's a no-brainer.

Homosexuality is simply a naturally occurring part of nature.
I imagine it's a way of being that's around for as long as people and other creatures have been evolving.

Just look at the first Endnote on page 22 of the posted booklet, "Is It A Choice?"
I find this note to be touching. I think it shows that homosexuality has been around for a long time.

William Shakespeare says: To thine own self be true, and it must follow, as the night the day, thou canst not then be false to any man.

But I think Dr. Seuss says it best:
“Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.”

    That's my 2 cents worth....

  2. I am posting this for Renae. Mark

    Good morning All,
My opinion is. What decent human being would want all of the negative that being gay comes with?
If we had to CHOOSE!Are you saying we choose to loose our family members, friends, jobs. Our Lives
for those who have? Our mental and physical state of mind and well being? Who would want this for
themselves. Now ask that Question? Please. Renae
